I’m studying for Dr. Red’s Health Psychology test tomorrow and am repeatedly amazed and embarrassed by how ignorant I am about common health-related disorders. For instance, I didn’t know that one can get anal cancer and that one its chief causes is the human papilloma virus which incidentally is spread through unsafe anal sex, apart [...]

Wow. It’s almost December. Then it’ll be 2009. Soon I will turn 19.
Good lord.
Man. The world’s economy is in shambles. 3,000 Icelanders lose their jobs every month. Iceland’s population measures around 300,000. Oil is back to USD$50 a barrel. COE is S$2 a pop for small cars. The cost of my regular mee pok now [...]

Researchers in California have created living mice with functioning human stem cells in their brains.
The feat could boost stem cell therapy research on brain diseases like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s—and raises the specter of animal-human hybrids.

I woke up in a strange funk today, with the foul overnight taste of beer in my mouth. I feel compelled to shout this out too: I ONLY HAD 2 BEERS! Plus I got home at 12.40 without leaving behind any questionable legacy.
Well done boy for behaving.
And now, to work. There’s LSR stem cell presentation [...]

I’m going to leave for Timbre @ Old School for Peibao’s birthday celebration soon.
Truth, I have half a mind to not turn up. I think I’ll sit quietly, close my eyes and sip my Erdinger(s).
And pray I don’t misbehave in the meantime, and after that.
Maximum 2 beers, boy.
I firmly believe Redante is right in mentioning [...]

Bone marrow ‘cures Aids patient’

About one in 1,000 Europeans and Americans have a resistance to HIV

Doctors in Germany say a patient appears to have been cured of Aids by a bone marrow transplant from a donor who had a genetic resistance to HIV.
The researchers in Berlin said the man, who suffered from [...]

Last night I had the rare occasion of sleeping right through with hardly any dreams. In fact, 7 hours of the night zipped past in an instant. As I sat on the train on the way to Catholic High School, I suddenly realised how quickly the night passed. I then realised how quickly my Lifetime [...]

When I am alone, I like to think about my current state of things. I like to consolidate my thoughts, my memories and my Self. It does not complete my day, but it at least clarifies my Being at this point in Time and Space.
But never have I felt less so. Not in a very [...]

A good night’s sleep

Last night, I slept well. I woke at 9AM and felt great, for the first time in a very long time. I didn’t dream of anything until an hour before I woke. I can’t remember what it was, but it wasn’t traumatic.
Mindful breathing works.
Breathing in, I calm my body.
Breathing out, I smile.
Dwelling in the present [...]
